Mobile Telephones

Moving on, telecommunication is the next stop on our brief tour of possible forms of communication. Mobile phones are big business in the UK with a vast range of phones to choose from and a number of networks providing different levels of service. If you already have a mobile and wish to use it in this country you must check that your network provider allows you to 'roam' abroad with your phone. As call charges can be up to four times the standard peak time landline rate it is not always the cheapest option, but can be useful in emergency. To explain everything that you need to know about mobile communication would be far too lengthy for the purposes of this guide, but if you are interested in purchasing a mobile for use in this country whilst you are here, be aware that you do need to do your research to get the most appropriate phone and tariff for your needs. There are a number of 'Mobile Phone shops' from which you can purchase or upgrade your phone, and even supermarkets offer pre-pay phones at reasonable rates if you know that that is what you want, so all you have to do is shop around!!
