wsslogos 291Cambridge railway station has regular trains to and from London (Kings Cross,Liverpool Street) and other Cities.Trains run regularly (at least once every half hour) between Cambridge and London King 's Cross.The journey takes between 50 minutes and 1 hr 15 minutes .Cambridge trains also run to London Liverpool Street - average journey time being around 1 hr 15 minutes.

Remember some trains stop at various stations to and from London so make sure you ask for a direct train for a faster journey. Coach services run from many cities to Cambridge 's Drummer Street Coach Station.

Bicycle

When studying here in the UK many people choose to buy or hire a bike.  TR-row of bikesWhen buying a bike make sure that you shop around to find the best price possible.  Biking in the UK is popular and most places will have a byclying shop, bycling in Oxford and Cambridge is especially popular.  You can also if you want buy second hand bikes, make sure that you have the bike fully services though before you go out and ride it.  Buying a second hand bike is a great way of saving money and especially useful if you are staying for a short time.  Another option is hiring a bike look ask your local social organiser for details of your local bike shop.

 

Many bicycles are stolen so securing your bike is very important. Buy a strong lock and attach the bicycle's frame and both wheels to an object which cannot be moved, in many UK cities there are bike stands.

Wearing a helmet could save your life!

In an accident a helmet can reduce the risk of severe head injury.  Therefore we strongly advice you to wear a helmet at all times. Remember for a helmet to be able to offer you any worthwhile protection it must be the correct size AND fit.  Ask your bike shop for advice.

Is it compulsory to wear a helmet?

Currently in the UK there is no legislation which places any requirement on you to actually wear a helmet.

 

Lights

Having bike lights is the law in the UK, and it is there to protect you, pedestrians and drivers.  Police can and will fine you if you are caught after dark without a front and back light.
