Food
If, as the saying goes, the streets of London are paved with gold, then Cambridge goes one better because turning a corner here means having your pick of places to eat and drink.

Cambridge is brimming with pubs, bars, and restaurants, serving food for every budget and, as befits its cosmopolitan nature, every taste. If you are eating out there are plenty of options, from Tapas' to Turkish, Indian to Greek; most menus will include "traditional" (English) and vegetarian alternatives but if you have specific requirements, always check before booking (details on the site or you could phone direct). You also need to be aware that towards the weekend most places get busy so if you can, think about reserving a table. It shouldn't cost, but make sure you let them know well in advance if you need to cancel.
For those on a tight budget look for small, newly opened venues, as they may not have a bar and if you're lucky you'll be able to take in your own drink for a small fee. You will be asked for proof of age and like all bars and restaurants, it's not an excuse to forget to tip. 10%-15% of the bill is acceptable or 50% if you misbehave.
