Brighton is Britain's liveliest seaside city, a strange and exciting mixture of Regency architecture, pleasure beaches and vibrant nightlife. Located near the beautiful Sussex countryside, Brighton is a perfect place for those who like to live fast by night and recover by day! King George IV was so excited by Brighton that here he built his fantastic (and some would say absurd!) seaside palace, the Royal Pavilion, an exotic mix of Indian and Chinese architecture.

A thriving fishing town, Brighton's beautiful Brunswick and Palmeira squares and the nearby lawns of Hove give stunning views of the sea, while at the Victorian Palace Pier you can enjoy traditional and modern seaside fun. The Artists Quarter and Fishing Museum are also not to be missed. For the water-sports fan there is jet-skiing and wild water slides, and Brighton holds world-class windsurfing championships. Cricket and football are popular, as are horse and greyhound races, mountain biking and walking in the Sussex Downs. And if you would rather ride than exercise, there's England's oldest electric railway to take you along Madeira Drive past the Marina.
